Ithaca Toys at Ithaca Loves Teachers Week

Ithaca Loves Teachers is an annual celebration of teachers held each year in February.

As a thanks for educators’ hard work and dedication, the Ithaca community gathers together to celebrate with entertainment, family fun, and discounts for a week to remember.

During this occasion, Ithaca Toys was offered an opportunity to present on our STEM mission and products. In 2017, Ithaca Toys was still only a concept that founder Lee Kaltman hoped to bring to life. Yet, The History Center offered us a spot in the public presentation of “Industry in Ithaca Over the Years.” With some products in hand but no business yet to back up his ideas, founder Lee Kaltman’s son and co-founder took the stage and presented on the merits of our blocks.

Isaac Kaltman, son of Lee Kaltman, even gave a live demonstration of the various ways to use BLOX and NumberBLOX, highlighting our startup’s belief in fostering open-ended thinking and letting kids learn by doing.

We are incredibly thankful for the opportunity to present to the Tompkins County public, and look forward to furthering our contributions to the Ithaca community over the coming years. As of now, we continue to source all raw materials locally and hire ethical, inclusive labor from the Ithaca workforce.
